New Perspective Hunting is a blog to share my learnings and experiences as someone who found a new passion in hunting later in life. I did not grow up in a family so I learned from youtube videos and articles, talking to friends and other fellow hunters and just getting out there and doing it.
I created this blog because I enjoy writing and talking about my hunting experiences foremost. I also know hunting can have a steep learning curve and can be intimidating to start. Hopefully this blog can give you some confidence if you are looking to start hunting and for the veterans I hope it can make you reflect on your journey through the years and how much you've learned. And I promise the more time you spend out there the more you will see and learn, so stick with it.
My first year deer hunting I probably sat out close to a 80 hours, most times I did not see any deer but I kept going. I thought I would be discouraged by my lack of success but I kept being drawn back. I would see the sunrise and sunsets, surroundings illuminate and darken, hear the happenings around me, see animals in their home and feel the elements. When it was time to leave I was energized and appreciative of the time I spent regardless if I saw what I was originally looking for. Simply put...I've never wasted a day in the woods.
Take Care,
Luke Bartel
